3 bike trips with no accidents
After being under some sort of pain for the last couple of months, it’s been such a relief to be all healed up. I’m glad I went through these accidents without any permanent injury. I think this was really just life reminding me that I have to appreciate good health and be more careful.
I’ve been biking 3 times now with no accidents. I noticed that I’ve had to consciously restrain myself from doing crazy things every time I went out. I’m not sure when it started happening but I had been riding like a daredevil for a long time.
Even though I’m not doing crazy stuff, riding has been very enjoyable. There might be a little less adrenaline but that’s not all that mountain biking has to offer. You can still do jumps that are not going to kill you if you fall, there is amazing scenery, there is fast downhills that are still safe, etc.
This weekend we did the Mill Creek Pipeline trail. I finally brought my camera and took tons of pictures, I uploaded them to myspace.com/pedroliska . Here is a couple of them:
In the bottom pic you can see Cody, Sergio, Rob, Stacy, and Nick. The only member of the gang that is missing in the pic is Justin, he was probably behind me when I took it.
Prince of the Blood
This weekend I finished reading the "Prince of the Blood", another Raymond Feist book. This would be my 6th book I’ve read from him:
- Magician Apprentice
- Magician Master
- Silverthorn
- A Darkness at Sethanon
- Daughter of the Empire
- Prince of the Blood
Even though the book was really good, I have to say that my favorites are still Magician Apprentice and Master; simply because there is more magic.
I think I’ll read "The kings Buccaneer" next. But what I really expect to read is the "Chaoswar Saga". It has not been published yet but I expect it to be full of magic. In one of the previous books I read, either magician master or a darkness at sethanon, they talk a little about the chaoswars. The chaos wars were among gods and immortals; like the Valheru that rode dragons. Just the mention of dragons means magic and being able to move between worlds or to see the chaoswars involves magic. So these will be great books.
If you’re into magic and fantasy books, I strongly suggest you start with magician apprentice and master.
Why am I falling so much?
It all started at the beginning of the season when I set my mind to jump the old car that’s in the bobsled trail. The car has a ramp in front of it and a landing ramp at the end of it. I found this picture of the car on the internet . It’s not the best but you can see what I’m talking about:
So I’ve been pushing the limits of my bike ever since the beginning of the season. I’ll just stop doing it now. I’ve been mountain biking on and off for about 10 years now and I know you don’t have to be suicidal to enjoy it.
